This one-of-a -kind sculptural adornment work is an accessory and fine art work that was part of the ‘Convergence’ series from 2022 that debuted on the Santa Fe Haute Couture runway.
The concept of community and reciprocity remained at the forefront of this project, trading materials, designs and knowledge with other artists. This collection utilizes natural materials such as animal hides, fur, hair, and bone. Through their incorporation we honor the land and the immense community-based labours of love of which they are harvested and prepared. Through stitchwork we explored how Indigenous adornment weaves our stories, teachings and knowledges into our bodies.
